Liposomal Iodide

Liposomal iodide is designed for delivery of iodide across the cell membranes.   Potassium iodide at an internal concentration of 30 mM is encapsulated in the liposome. The external iodide concentration is 0.6 mM.  To ensure the delivery efficiency, the lipid composition of the liposomal iodide is the same as that for a liposomal drug in clinic which is HSPC: DSPE-PEG2000: cholesterol (3:1:1, mass ratio). The average size of liposomes is about 110 nm.

The PEGylated Liposomal Iodide (Catalog No. PHPC002KI) includes 2 ml of 30 mM KI encapsulated in 7 mg/ml PEGylated liposomes. The external solution is water.
